*SCS COVID-19 Policy Update #1 Effective 11/30/2020:

If a student at SCS presents with any COVID-19 related symptoms, and needs to have a COVID-19 test SCS mandates that the test be a PCR test. As previously noted in our policy, if a student tests positive for Covid-19, the student will need to quarantine for 14 days from the date of the test AND provide SCS with a negative PCR test prior to returning.

*SCS COVID-19 Policy Update #2 Effective 11/30/2020:

If an SCS student/staff member tests positive for COVID-19, then SCS Administration will immediately collaborate with the Norwood Department of Health (DPH) and/or any other local Departments of Health as appropriate in order to determine any close contacts. In most cases, the classroom teachers and/or other staff will confidentially be asked to help SCS Administration and the Norwood DPH determine if there are any close contacts. All CLOSE CONTACTS will be notified via telephone and/or email by SCS and the Norwood DPH or other local DPH.  Per CDC, Norwood DPH and SCS guidelines/protocol, individuals who are determined to be close contacts will need to be tested for COVID-19. Additionally, those close contacts will quarantine for 14 days per our policy from the test date.

ALL families who have a child in the classroom of the student/staff member who tested positive for Covid-19 who are NOT close contacts WILL ALSO be contacted immediately. This will happen after ALL close contacts have been notified. Lastly, an email will be sent to the entire SCS school community to let families know that there has been a case of Covid-19 in one of the SCS buildings (Preschool/Pre-K Building, Lower School Building or Middle School Building.) Please note that only families of students in the same classroom community with the student/staff member who had Covid-19 will be told the name of the particular classroom community.

-Families of SCS students/staff members who are not considered a close contact, but were notified that their child is in the same classroom community as the student/staff member who tested positive for Covid-19 may:

1) Communicate with their child’s Pediatrician or other healthcare facility in order to be tested (~ Dependent on each families own safety and wellness plan)
2) Can quarantine (~ Dependent on each families own safety and wellness plan) and/or
3) Participate in Remote Learning by contacting their child’s teacher for the Google Meet code and/or
4) Immediately return to school if they are symptom free without medication.

-SCS Families, Faculty and Staff will be expected to absolutely maintain the confidentiality of all information surrounding any case of Covid-19 at SCS.
